I have patched the original init script with your new patch - and it is working flawlessly for me. When all my 4 fstab entries are correct and mountable, I am getting one progress message per disk and OK for the total result of the init script. Adding one broken configuration entry in the middle of my _netdev mount entries it is showing 5 progress messages, still mounting all the correct 4 entries, but the total result of the init script shows failed.
