RFC3315 only states the following, in section 5.2. UDP Ports: ``Clients listen for DHCP messages on UDP port 546. Servers and relay agents listen for DHCP messages on UDP port 547.'' There is no obligation for the server to send its reply to an information-request message with its source port set to 547.
