Package: fprintd Version: 0.4.1-5-g73edad0-3 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, fprintd-enroll refuses take the -f option into account, so only the right index finger can be scanned.
Example run: $ fprintd-enroll -f right-middle-finger Using device /net/reactivated/Fprint/Device/0 Enrolling right index finger. The man page seems also inconsistent, as it does not list the -f argument in the SYNOPSYS section for fprintd-enrool, but it specifically mentions fprintd-enroll at the description of the -f argument. There may be a fix for this upstream, I think this is a pretty serious issue, if you really want to use fprintd for authentication, so in case of an upstream fix, a backport seems a viable option. -- System Information: Debian Release: 7.5 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.14-0.bpo.1-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages fprintd depends on: ii dbus 1.6.8-1+deb7u3 ii libc6 2.13-38+deb7u1 ii libdbus-1-3 1.6.8-1+deb7u3 ii libdbus-glib-1-2 0.100.2-1 ii libfprint0 1:0.4.0-4-gdfff16f-4 ii libglib2.0-0 2.33.12+really2.32.4-5 ii libpolkit-gobject-1-0 0.105-3 ii policykit-1 0.105-3 fprintd recommends no packages. fprintd suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
