This bug has been pending for a while, and needs fixing for new ports, including arm64 which is building now: (http://buildd.debian-ports.org/status/architecture.php?a=arm64&suite=sid). So I've prepared an NMU for libgc (versioned as 1:7.2d-6.1) and uploaded it to DELAYED/7. Feel free to override it with your own upload or ask for changes if there are issues with this patch. The details of the autoreconf fixes have been discussed above, so I won't repeat that here. Cheers
