Verified. Setting CONFIG_FB_RADEON=m and rebuilding the kernel fixes the radeon problem on my Mac Mini G4 PPC permanently. Since there are several framebuffer drivers compiled into the kernel instead of building them as modules on the PowerPC kernel, I suggest to build these as modules as well to avoid the very same problem for other video adapters.
