I manually built the tarballs from git, and checked out the specific version of ccan and built an .orig-ccan-upstream.tar.gz out of the commit listed in the git submodules... so I haven't actually used the tarball(s) from upstream. Maybe upstream needs to update their release process, or at least clarify how to get the ccan tarball? live well, vagrant
