How could this possibly be 'wishlist'. The libvtk6 is simply a collection of random lib without any clear definition. There are python, java and Tcl binding within it. It is *impossible* to have a clear ABI since those are even linked to python directly (use python2.7 API). > Hi Mathieu, > > 2014-06-02 12:09 GMT+02:00 Mathieu Malaterre <[email protected]>: >> Please get rid of package libvtk6 ASAP. Obviously marking the bug as wishlist wont make *any* one provide patch for it. What are you trying to do, force a quick transition to vtk6 or have a decent package for your *users*. >> I am marking this as grave since it make the package >> completely useless, one need to install 363 shared lib anytime libvtk6 >> is needed. > > It does not make the package useless. strictly speaking yes, but as maintainer you could at least acknowledge that it will make any transition or rebuild an enormous amount of effort. Fixing this issue *before* the vtk6 transition would make it painless... -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [email protected]
