What I want is to them to have a look at it: it's fine to include a patch is still not released with numpy; what I'd like to avoid is to ship a patch without the upstream authors to know it exists and eventually include in the next upstream release (so we remove the delta from the debian package). Also, please consider adding a DEP-3 header to the patch.
