Package: ejabberd
Version: 2.1.11-1
Severity: important
Dear Maintainer,
After upgrading the ejabberd package, my Gajim clients could not reconnect to
ejabberd instance.
After some investigations, it appeared that both my clients (0.14/linux and
0.16-beta/windows) were rejecting connection
after receiving a « malformed XML » response to 'disco#items' request.
It appeared that the description of one of the items contained some UTF-8
characters ('stopped nodes', in fr.msg),
but apparently they have been received in ascii.
I found to workarounds :
1/ launch gajim client with LC_ALL=C on the linux side (unable to do the same
thing on the windows desktop, though)
2/ remove the UTF-8 characters from the french translation of 'stopped nodse'
Both worked, and I stuck with the second one.
But I think there is some ejabberd, or more likely some gajim problem.
In doubt, I fill this against ejabberd (as this come after an ejabberd upgrade,
not gajim).
I got both XML parts and Gajim debug log of this specific action, if you need
them.
