Hi all, sorry to bother you but i'm facing the same problem while using synaptic ; (GLib-CRITICAL **: g_child_watch_add_full: assertion 'pid > 0' failed)
For instance, as i installed codeblocks, i had this message : "(synaptic:23460): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_child_watch_add_full: assertion 'pid > 0' failed Sélection du paquet gamin précédemment désélectionné. (Lecture de la base de données... 226445 fichiers et répertoires déjà installés.) Preparing to unpack .../gamin_0.1.10-4.1_amd64.deb ... Unpacking gamin (0.1.10-4.1) ... dpkg: libfam0 : problème de dépendance, mais suppression comme demandé : libkdecore5 dépend de libfam0. " If you wish, i can provide you with more stuff, in order to target what's happening. May i say that i'm a Debian fan :) i'll try to deal with this problem by my self, nevertheless, maybe it'll be a good thing for you to have some logs concerning this issue.
