I can't think of any occasion myself when you'd deliberately want to allow a null entry in /etc/mailcap.order, but I appreciate that someone might possibly have a use for it. The patch would personally suit me, but if you think it could be disruptive then I could live without it. Maybe it would be better done as an command-line option to update-mime, so it won't trouble automated scripts but can be applied manually?
