Either a 0.6.x upstream version or applying the patch in bug #741235 is
required to install Debian on generation 2 Hyper-V VMs. The current
version can break UEFI implementations, as it adds violates the UEFI
spec by adding additional 6 bytes of padding.

There was some latency from holidays and a change in the upstream
maintainer. 0.6.1 is in unstable now, though with the time lag, I
neglected to indicate in the changelog that it closes this bug. (FYI,
I'm also in the process of packaging 0.7.)
It looks like 0.6.1-3 should migrate to testing in a couple of days:
