Well, actually not solved. I tried with the very computer that was failing (the one I used to report the original bug) and it still fails. This is also debian wheezy, gnome-shell 3.4.2-7+deb7u1.

I browsed to https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/112/remove-accesibility/, toggled it on. As per the previous bug report, no prompt, the icon slides to on but the extension does not get installed. The file .xsession-errors mentions the same error as per previous reports.

Interestingly, the bug does /not/ occur on another of my computers running the same wheezy distribution (as indicated in my previous message). But I have no clue what’s different on these two computers.

Solved for me on debian wheezy, gnome-shell 3.4.2-7+deb7u1.

I browsed to https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/112/remove-accesibility/, toggled it on. A prompt asked whether I want to download and install the extension, I confirmed, and there it went.

xsession-errors says:

inflating: /home/olivier/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions/removeaccesibility@lomegor/COPYING inflating: /home/olivier/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions/removeaccesibility@lomegor/extension.js inflating: /home/olivier/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions/removeaccesibility@lomegor/README extracting: /home/olivier/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions/removeaccesibility@lomegor/metadata.json

Great!
