s/Debian tetex packages/teTeX/; I wouldn't understand what "'initex' interface" means if I hadn't followed the discussion. What about: >From version 3.0, teTeX uses pdfetex as its main engine (i.e., binary). initex can no longer safely be used to create formats, because it does not take into account the different enginges used (etex, pdftex, pdfetex,...), and therefore no initex symlink is provided in teTeX 3.0. For format generation, use fmtutil or call the underlying engine with the '-ini' command line option. For example, 'latex -ini &latex name.tex' will dump the format for name.tex. > To obtain the file extention of the format file, use the filename > generated by 'kpsewhich --format fmt latex' (However, note that > sarge tetex has a workaround, and thus cannot be relied upon). That's okay for me. Regards, Frank -- Frank Küster Inst. f. Biochemie der Univ. Zürich Debian Developer
