After removing this part of the init script and restarting it, the card services were brought up successfully and installation continued. Reboot: The kernel which the installer put on the disk and tried to boot (2.6.12-something) didn't recognize the partition table (I would think, "Partition Types/PC BIOS" not activated in kernel config), while the installer kernel got it right. I had to use the rescue system on the installer disk and a chroot to reach the new system and build my own kernel, which can read the partition table (see uname -a above) Greetings Heiko -- Lust, ein paar Euro nebenbei zu verdienen?
