I found a patch for this at https://bugs.launchpad.net/do/+bug/1097712 and used it to prepare an upload for raspbian. A debdiff can be found at http://debdiffs.raspbian.org/main/g/gnome-do/gnome-do_0.9-1%2brpi1.debdiff . No intent to NMU in debian.
