Hello! The DX-42xx series is marked as supported on the SANE upstream website [1], so basic scanning should work. The DX-4250 has the same USB IDs as the DX-4250, so it should be the same device.
sane-backends 1.0.24-1.1 was uploaded to unstable today. Please update to this version and report back. If the scanner can be reported to work then, we can close this bug report. If everything else fails, you can still try the proprietary driver offered by EPSON [2] (search for "DX4200").
