Yesterday I upgraded to wheezy from squeeze - my system has several serial
terminals connected to it - all of them are operating in 132 column mode. With
the newer version of agetty supplied with wheezy they only show up as 80 column
devices - as if its not reading or parsing the terminfo file supplied and
invocation. I downgraded util-linux to the version supplied with squeeze, and
this problem went away. Below are the lines used to invoke agetty in the
inittab.
T0:2345:respawn:/sbin/agetty -L ttyR0 19200 vt102-w
T1:2345:respawn:/sbin/agetty -L ttyR1 19200 vt102-w
T0:2345:respawn:/sbin/agetty -L ttyR2 19200 vt102-w
T0:2345:respawn:/sbin/agetty -L ttyR3 19200 vt102-w
I've been using this configuration for 2 years without any troubles - until the
upgrade.
