When a window is iconified, an ICCCM style MapRequest doesn't de-iconify
it, whereas I hoped that it would. For example with an xterm and the
xwit program,
xwit -iconify -id $WINDOWID; sleep 2; xwit -pop -id $WINDOWID
The xterm is iconified, but then the -pop does not de-iconify the way I
think it should.
-pop is xwit's name for an XMapRaised. The window manager receives a
MapRequest event. The bit of the ICCCM spec is "Changing Window State",
* Iconic -> Normal - The client should map the window. The contents of
WM_HINTS.initial_state are irrelevant in this case.
