Package: libwine-dev Version: 1.6.1-8 Severity: normal Hi,
Linking a simple hello world program with winegcc fails with /usr/bin/ld.bfd.real: cannot find -lwinecrt0. Indeed packages.debian.org reports that /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/wine/libwinecrt0.a was available in the testing version of libwine-dev [i386], but in unstable, only the following two paths (for 386-kfreebsd and ppc-linux) are provided by any package: /usr/lib/i386-kfreebsd-gnu/wine-unstable/wine/libwinecrt0.a libwine-dev-unstable [not powerpc] /usr/lib/powerpc-linux-gnu/wine-unstable/wine/libwinecrt0.a libwine-dev-unstable [not kfreebsd-i386] I admit I've never before used winegcc, so there's a possibility I'm doing something wrong and the packages are fine, in which case my apologies. To reproduce (I'm running on amd64): ------------------------------------------------------------ $ cat nop.c int main(int argc, char **argv) { return 0; } $ PATH=/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/wine/bin:$PATH winegcc -m32 nop.c -o nop /usr/bin/ld.bfd.real: cannot find -lwinecrt0 collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status winegcc: gcc failed ------------------------------------------------------------ Sami -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.12.6 (SMP w/8 CPU cores; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fi_FI.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages libwine-dev:i386 depends on: ii libc6-dev 2.17-97 ii libwine 1.6.1-8 Versions of packages libwine-dev:i386 recommends: ii wine32-dev-tools 1.6.1-8 Versions of packages libwine-dev:i386 suggests: ii wine-doc 1.0.0-1 -- no debconf information
