I was considering updating the packaging of scala to help you (because I need 2.10 myself), but it seems to me that you are not providing enough information
for me to do so.

$ cat debian/gbp.conf
[DEFAULT]
pristine-tar = True
filter-pristine-tar = True
filter = [
    "docs/android-examples",
    "lib/ant",
    "lib/midpapi10.jar"
    ]

debian/gbp.conf is read by git-import-orig when importing a new upstream tarball. I didn't put this information in a README.Source file or anything because it is (somehow) standard, comes with a standard git-buildpackage.

The filter-pristine-tar option makes sure a filtered tarball is generated before the import. So, really, I don't need any get-orig-source target in
my debian/rules file.

Please let me know if I can close this bug, or if you need more information.

Regards,
