Package: extlinux
Version: 3:4.05+dfsg-6+deb7u3
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

I just tried to update current stable to testing, and installation failed with
"unknown device". I know I had the problem before, but now I take the time to
ask about the proper solution.

Looking in the postinst I see:

df -P /boot/extlinux/ | tail -1  | awk '{ print $1 }' | sed -e 's|[0-9]||g

this command give as output:

/dev/disk/by-uuid/acc-c-b-bf-ddde

Reading this, I can understand why extlinux refuses to install on that dev,
without the sed I get:

/dev/disk/by-uuid/a7c7c314-c430-44b9-9bf6-4dd6254d681e

So maybe a check if or something is missing.
