Hi Alexandre,

This behaviour is also up to the usage of the $res->force_v4(1) call.

I've created a little patch to fix the mentioned problems due to the usage of
NET::DNS and
force_v4() and uploaded the package on mentors[1]. Could you please install the
package and
test if the problem is persists? Furthermore I've added libio-socket-inet6-perl
to the
recommends of policyd-weight.

To make things easy I've uploaded the new .deb to my webserver:
wget http://www.werner-detter.de/policyd-weight_0.1.15.2-6_all.deb

Thank you,
Werner Detter

Hi Werner,

I juste tested your patched package and it seems to perfectly work for now, both when using and not using $USE_NET_DNS = 1.

As a side note : on my first test, I forgot to install libio-socket-inet6-perl on my test machine (yes... again), and that lead to the "infinite loop" problem too, regarless of your patch. This is annoying because there is no way to tell from the logs what went wrong :/ I am not sure that putting is as a recommend is suffiicient, or if policyd-weight should fail to start in that case (ipv6 only resolver and missing socket-inet6-perl package), but this is not the subject of this ticket ;)

In any case, policyd-weight now works in my ipv6 only machine :)

Thank you very much,
Alexandre.
