Package: docbook5-xml Version: 5.0-2 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
The version of /usr/share/xml/docbook/stylesheet/docbook5/db4-upgrade.xsl supplied in the docbook5-xml package is five years out of date, and the out of date version contains translation errors which undermine the utility of the file. A newer version is available from the Docbook repository at https://sourceforge.net/p/docbook/code/HEAD/tree/trunk/docbook/relaxng/tools/db4-upgrade.xsl If you upgrade this file, I suggest also checking other files in the Docbook repository as it's possible it is not the only one that's out of date. Sid appears to be using the same docbook5-xml package as wheezy, so the problem is not fixed simply by using the package from sid. * What led up to the situation? Translating Docbook 4 -> Docbook 5 documents using db4-upgrade.xsl * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? xsltproc /usr/share/xml/docbook/stylesheet/docbook5/db4-upgrade.xsl <docbook4file.xml> * What was the outcome of this action? File was translated to Docbook 5, but was missing elements of the original Docbook 4 source. Specifically, <title> elements in <refsynopsisdiv> were dropped. * What outcome did you expect instead? All elements of Docbook 4 source to be translated to the comparable Docbook 5 source. -- System Information: Debian Release: 7.2 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/6 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages docbook5-xml depends on: ii xml-core 0.13+nmu2 docbook5-xml recommends no packages.
