* What led up to the situation? Enabling secure boot and disabling CSM option leads to this problem. * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? Disabling secure boot is an effective, albeit undesirable workaround. I also built a 3.11.5 kernel with the attached patch for i915 driver applied, which fixed the problem (note that the stock 3.11.5 suffers from the same problem as 3.10.11-1). * What was the outcome of this action? The outcome of enabling the Secure boot option without the patch applied is that a computer boots but its primary screen remains blank. No switching between ttys, no graphical user interface for the wicked. The applied patch fixes the problem. * What outcome did you expect instead?
