So you say I should still add the blacklist? I ask because seemingly, it
has no effect at all. I don't see a good reason to install something
that doesn't do anything.

The split is already done, it should allow you to use the Alsa backend
without installing PA, while the PA backend Requires: PA (because it
won't work without it).
