This package intentionally targets i386/amd64 systems. From my
understanding of upstream's documentation[1], it would not be of use on
other architectures.

If you find it useful on MIPS and it is trivially buildable for that
platform, please open another bug and I can investigate further.

User-installed libraries should go in /usr/local/lib, per the FHS[2].

Sure; I can investigate whether the custom path is droppable. If you get
to it beforehand, feel free to attach a debdiff which I can apply.
However for the reasons above I don't think this is too critical; please
correct me if any of my statements were mistaken.
