Package: mtr Version: 0.85-1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
On a system without IPv6 support, mtr fails on invocation, such as, "mtr localhost" or "mtr example.com" issuing the error, "Unable to allocate IPv6 socket for nameserver communication: Address family not supported by protocol" I would expect mtr to try IPv4, if IPv6 is not available. Partial functioning can be obtained if resolution of hostnames is not requested by adding the -n command line switch. -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.10.10 (SMP w/2 CPU cores; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=en_US (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages mtr depends on: ii libatk1.0-0 2.8.0-2 ii libc6 2.17-92 ii libcairo2 1.12.14-4 ii libfontconfig1 2.10.2-2 ii libfreetype6 2.4.9-1.1 ii libgdk-pixbuf2.0-0 2.28.2-1 ii libglib2.0-0 2.36.4-1 ii libgtk2.0-0 2.24.20-1 ii libncurses5 5.9+20130608-1 ii libpango-1.0-0 1.32.5-5+b1 ii libpangocairo-1.0-0 1.32.5-5+b1 ii libpangoft2-1.0-0 1.32.5-5+b1 ii libtinfo5 5.9+20130608-1 mtr recommends no packages. mtr suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
