-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi Juergen,
I see on the Gramps Wiki that it is preferable if people use a UTF-8 locale: http://www.gramps-project.org/wiki/index.php?title=Howto:Change_the_language_of_reports If you run locale -a and you can see that de_DE.UTF-8 is an available locale, you could run Gramps with: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8 gramps If UTF-8 is not available, by running dpkg-reconfigure locales as root, you can install the de_DE.UTF-8 locale. If you are happy to change the default locale to de_DE.UTF-8 permanently, then you can also do this with dpkg-reconfigure locales. The bug is still in the upstream bug tracker, but I hope this might help give you a better workaround for now.
