This is bug report for experimental package. It seems that gobject-introspection does not (yet) support mulit-arch so you must not install the typelib files into multi-arch paths but they must go into /usr/lib/girepository-1.0/ instead [1]. $ dpkg -L ibus-anthy | grep typelib /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/girepository-1.0/Anthy-9000.typelib A typical way to achieve this is to update ibus-anthy.install: -usr/lib/*/girepository-1.0/* +usr/lib/*/girepository-1.0/* usr/lib/girepository-1.0/ The other way is using --with-anthygobject-typelibsdir option in configure. Since a typelib file is arch-dependent, you may need to remove the "Multi-Arch: Same" control field in ibus-anthy package.
