Please enable the ‘error-notify’ plugin. This plugin provides an interface for receiving alerts from charon. This plugin is marked as stable according to the PluginList¹ wiki and doesn't require any additional build dependencies. Note that an additional binary is installed: /usr/lib/ipsec/error-notify.
