As far as I know, no public records of #dwb are kept.

Would it please be possible to elaborate on the motives for tagging this bug
wontfix?

According to Debian Policy, section 4.4: "modifications made in the Debian
package compared to the upstream" "should be briefly explained in the Debian
changelog file".

One might therefor argue that undocumented usage of GTK+3 violates policy, but
it's likely more convincing to question why Debian packages & distributes dwb,
when a significant set of its users needs to recompile, merely to work around
this strange decision to select another flavour of GTK+.

It is not uncommon that Debian users are entering #dwb on irc because they are
experiencing problems due to this.
