Is it causing some problem? According to [1], you can select the driver that you want to use with the environmnet variable SDL_AUDIODRIVER. There's a list of them which tries by default, and "alsa" goes before "pulse". The fact that pulls libpulse0 doesn't mean that your system will use pulseaudio as sound server. [1] http://www.libsdl.org/docs/html/sdlenvvars.html libpulse0 pulls a few things, but mostly X11, which one would expect to use in a system where SDL is used. On the other hand all GNOME, KDE, gstreamer, phonon, openjdk, libxine, mplayer and other software will pull this dependency, so it's quite rare to have a Debian system installed without having this package -- so I don't think that there's much point in trying to avoid it, we would have to provide different packages for it, and IMO for little gain.
