The reason seems to be that it would complicate the code whereas you can do things like: french-conjugator parler | iconv -f utf8 -t iso-8859-1 to convert encodings. > > An option would help emacs specify precisely what it's sending. As before, I'm not a user of emacs and I have no idea how it handles encodings internally. Can you create a specific usecase where the current behavior will break the verbiste's output? Btw.
