When looking at a bug via the web interface, it would be useful to be
able to browse patches without downloading them. Frequently, this is
not possible, because the patches are served with a
"content-disposition: attachment" which cause most browsers to display a
download dialog.

If I'm just browsing, and just want to take an informal look at the
proposed patch, it would be much more useful to have it served as
"Content-type: text/plain; Content-disposition: inline" and thus
rendered in the browser just like any other textual content.

(Granted, some patches are base64 encoded and/or compressed.)

The BTS web interface offers "full text" and "mbox" links for each
message on a web page. I don't know what problems they are intended to
solve and for whom, but it would be a nice first approximation if the
"full text" link would actually display the full MIME source, rather
than just render the (full) headers.

Alternatively, perhaps each attachment could be made available via a
separate "inline" link as well -- by the looks of the href, the back end
already has the file as a separate object. If the browser cannot render
it, too bad.

If this were a real .signature, it would suck less. Well, maybe not.
