# for cont...@bugs.debian.org: fixed 710532 1.8.6.3-2 thanks Oleg Moskalenko wrote: > Justin, could you please untag this bug ? We already fixed it in > v1.8.6.3, according to your suggestions. But this bug is still > hanging over the package. How to mark it "fixed" or else ?
The trick is, you mention the specific bug number in the changelog entry as "(closes: #710532)". That automatically marks the bug as "done" when the version with that changelog reaches the repositories: "http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/developers-reference/pkgs.html#upload-bugfix" The alternative way of doing it, available to random users like me, is to send a control message like the above (assuming I've got the syntax right) declaring the bug "fixed". It would also be possible to close the bug by mailing "710532-d...@bugs.debian.org", but that may be restricted to package maintainers - I've never tried it. -- JBR with qualifications in linguistics, experience as a Debian sysadmin, and probably no clue about this particular package -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
