Can you please call as root:
        update-updmap
and send me the output ... It should be:
-------
Regenerating '/var/lib/texmf/updmap.cfg-DEBIAN'... done.
Regenerating '/var/lib/texmf/updmap.cfg-TEXLIVEDIST'... done.
update-updmap has updated the following file(s):
        /var/lib/texmf/updmap.cfg-DEBIAN
        /var/lib/texmf/updmap.cfg-TEXLIVEDIST
If you want to enable the map files with this new file,
you should run updmap-sys or updmap.
---------------

If not, can you send me the output of
        ls -l /usr/share/texlive/texmf-dist/web2c/updmap.cfg
which should be
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 37 May 23 13:33
/usr/share/texlive/texmf-dist/web2c/updmap.cfg ->
/var/lib/texmf/updmap.cfg-TEXLIVEDIST

(more or less)

Then also please pack up the directory
        /var/lib/tex-common
and also send it to us.

Thanks.

No, that should be NO problem. I have practically all font package
installed that there are.
