Well, where did you get /usr/lib/ispell/german.{hash|aff} from?  Your
bug report referred ingerman 20030222-7 which only contains
/usr/lib/ispell/ngerman.{hash|aff} (note the "n" for "new German
orthography").

And with this one, I cannot reproduce the bug:

$ echo "nachstandanden" | /usr/bin/ispell -a -m -C -d ngerman
@(#) International Ispell Version 3.1.20 10/10/95, patch 1

Okay, since I don't see danger of confusion with a more common word
for "hintenan", I will add it to the next release of the package.
