Hi, It appears that there is something with the file itself. The actual error from pygame is "error loading samplerate". If you rename background.xm to intro.xm it works fine.
Bye the way, your last patch seems to have a bug also. If you disable the music, pathological throws an error. I haven't looked into that one yet.
