Hi, I don't think this problem has gone away. On Debian testing with Xfce for desktop environment this problem is still present. Upon system restart or suspend/hibernate NetworkManager Applet 0.9.8.0 never successfully re-connects to VPN. It tries a few times failing each time with 'network disconnected' message.
