This is not acceptable, because I am not using KDE. By default, running a command should be silent unless there is an error. Installing okular or konqueror for testing purposes and then invoking it accidentally through mime-support should not result in text overwriting my mutt session. Maybe KDE needs to ship a configuration file that disables output to the terminal by default, I don't know, but the status quo is problematic. Regardless, my patch fixes the issue.
