Version 0.50 is available for download. Unfortunately, the package does not install "gocr.h" (the corresponding line is commented out) however build for .so and .a is there.
"gocr.h" in its turn includes "pnm.h", "unicode.h", "list.h" which in their turn include more headers. Could we still overcome this limitation and assemble the list of headers (perhaps *.h would be OK) and finally package -dev?
