Package: gdb Version: 7.4.1+dfsg-0.1 gdb's "catch syscall" doesn't work on ARM because it's missing the XML description file; from dpkg -L
/usr/share/gdb/syscalls /usr/share/gdb/syscalls/sparc64-linux.xml /usr/share/gdb/syscalls/ppc64-linux.xml /usr/share/gdb/syscalls/mips-n64-linux.xml /usr/share/gdb/syscalls/ppc-linux.xml /usr/share/gdb/syscalls/i386-linux.xml /usr/share/gdb/syscalls/mips-o32-linux.xml /usr/share/gdb/syscalls/sparc-linux.xml /usr/share/gdb/syscalls/amd64-linux.xml /usr/share/gdb/syscalls/gdb-syscalls.dtd /usr/share/gdb/syscalls/mips-n32-linux.xml see, no arm (el or hf). (Whether there are other issues as well I don't know - I just spotted that the ARM versions were missing). There was an Ubuntu bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdb/+bug/501277 when many others were missing, but I noticed the ARM one was still missing.
