No, this is a misrepresentation of the actual error. I get this: $ unzip pack.zip Archive: pack.zip warning [pack.zip]: zipfile claims to be last disk of a multi-part archive; attempting to process anyway, assuming all parts have been concatenated together in order. Expect "errors" and warnings...true multi-part support doesn't exist yet (coming soon). which is a lot more than the simple "error" that you wrote. By contrast, file-roller says this in my system: 7-Zip [64] 9.20 Copyright (c) 1999-2010 Igor Pavlov 2010-11-18 p7zip Version 9.20 (locale=es_ES.UTF-8,Utf16=on,HugeFiles=on,2 CPUs) Error: /tmp/pack.zip: Can not open file as archive Errors: 1 which is a lot less helpful than the message given by unzip, as it does not even warn that the file is the first one in a multipart archive. I'm reassigning this to file-roller as I think the error message could be improved there.
