Package: calibre
Version: 0.8.51+dfsg1-0.1
Severity: important
Dear Maintainer,
* Installed and configured calibre
* Connected e-book reader device
* Detected device is shown in status bar, device icons appear
* Device contents can be shown
* However: Send to device fails with the message
"Cannot send: No device is connected"
I've traced the problem to
/usr/lib/calibre/calibre/gui2/device.py, line 827
self.status_bar.show_message(_('Device: ')+\
self.device_manager.device.__class__.get_gui_name()+\
_(' detected.'), 3000)
in which execution (device configuration) seems to get abandoned.
Commenting out this line fixes the bug.
