So, the problem is that squeeze's ifupdown has no logic to deal with /var/run/network: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ifupdown/+bug/377432 Support for this was included in version 0.7.1, so I've uploaded the attached nmu to delayed/2. Best wishes, Mike
