Steps to reproduce:

1) Write a simple sane client (Qt+libsane) with just one button. Clicking on
this button will show a list of scanners (using sane_get_devices()).
2) Connect your scanner and start the app
3) click
4) the app will show a list of scanners including your scanner
5) disconnect scanner
6) click
7) the app will still show your scanner

Source code to reproduce is attached. Compile and run from terminal emulator.
