This fix has not fixed the problem I reported. Today I currently happened to have two messages stuck in my exim sending queue because of this problem. These messages were not my specially crafted test messages, just normal mail messages.
Installing openssl 1.0.1e-2 on the receiving system made no change -- the two messages both still failed with the error reported earlier. Installing openssl 1.0.1e-2on the sending system then allowed one of the two messages to be sent but the second one still fails with exactly the same error. So, this fix has changed something but not fixed the whole problem.
