I believe this bug will be fixed in version 1.9.2-1. Quoting the private e-mail from the author of Burgerspace:

I've just published BurgerSpace 1.9.2:

It includes the gcc 4.7 fix, and it is now possible to select the
save slot using the arrow keys and Enter. This should accommodate
those AZERTY keyboards.
