Package: Octave3.2
Version: 3.2.4-8
I used the debian synaptic package manager to install octave. Unfortunately,
it crashes whenever I invoke even a simple matrix multiply. Something is
clearly missing.
I'm running debian version 6.0.6, Gnu Desktop version 2.30.2 and linux
kernel 2.6.32-5-686.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I am sorry to inform you that this bug will not be fixed (and I am hereby
tagging this bug report accordingly). The Debian Octave Group decided to
drop the maintenance of the octave3.2 package. The current upstream
version of Octave is 3.6.2, which corresponds to the package called
octave (N.B.: no version in the name) in the testing distribution.
You seem to be using the squeeze distribution. I would suggest you to
install the backported version of the package, which can be found here:
http://packages.debian.org/squeeze-backports/octave
Otherwise, you could upgrade your system to the wheezy distribution,
which will become the stable distribution soon.
Best regards,
Rafael
